[Japanese Literature] The Empire of Corpses

In late-19th century Europe, a new technology that allows the bodies of the dead to be installed with an artificial soul to create “Frankensteins”—corpses which can be utilized as laborers and soldiers—has spurred an industrial revolution across the Western world.

John H. Watson, a medical student living in London, is scouted by a government agency to serve as a secret agent. He quickly discovers that these”Frankensteins” and an individual, known as ‘The One’, may not have the world’s best interests at heart.
